During War time the Trustees felt that they

could not press for early attention to the matter, especial-

-ly if, as was understood, their proposal would involve

reference to the Secretary of State; and as there was no

actual urgency about the matter, they did not press it.

Now however that conditions are becoming

normal the Trustees deem it possible, and indeed regard it

to be their duty as Trustees, to bring the matter forward

again; and we are instructed respectfully to request that

the Trustees' proposal, that the new lease to be granted to

them shall be for 999 years, may have the favorable con-

sideration of the Government.
